da prosport bet: It’s safe to say that Brendan Rodgers’ reign at Celtic didn’t get off to the most ideal start. A 1-0 defeat to part-time Lincoln Red Imps of Gibraltar was a loss of comedic proportions.
da brwin: The Northern Irishman clearly needs to improve the squad if they are to generate any success domestically and in Europe, especially with Rangers now reinstated into the Scottish Premier League.
With a relatively modest budget and plenty of changes to make, Rodgers may need to look to the far reaches of the continent to find the best players for the task ahead.
Here are FIVE transfer unknowns that Celtic should target.
Victor Lindelof
Pundits in Sweden have been taken aback with Victor Nilsson Lindelof, and many of them have suggested he is the best defenders to come out of the country in the past ten years.
The commanding centre half currently plays in Portugal with Benfica, where he has thoroughly impressed with his aerial ability and tough tackling.
With Celtic in the market for defensive improvements, Lindelof could be an affordable and worthwhile option, especially with his best years still ahead of him.
Niclas Füllkrug
One of the most impressive players in the 2. Bundesliga last season, Niclas Füllkrug has attracted the attention of numerous suitors in the German top flight and abroad.
A tall, powerful striker, Füllkrug scored 17 goals for Nurnberg last season as his stock continues to rise.
Available for as little as £3 million and a natural goalscorer, the 23-year old could be a surprise coup for Celtic.
Alan Judge
A die-hard Celtic fan, Alan Judge would jump at the opportunity to join his favoured club, and Celtic should do just the same with him.
Judge was voted the third best player in the Championship last season after another superb campaign with Brentford.
The Irishman riled a number of Rangers fans earlier in the season, after reports surfaced that his former manager Mark Warburton wanted him to join Rangers.
“I wouldn’t be going to Rangers, not a chance. I had that call in the summer and I went ‘are you kidding me? I’d get killed if I went up there,” he said.
Happy with that Celtic fans?!

László Kleinheisler
One of the most impressive players in Hungary’s surprisingly efficient EURO 2016 campaign, László Kleinheisler has a promising future ahead of him.
The 22 year old is skilful playmaker with the capability to control the flow of a game from the middle of the park.
The youngster moved to Werder Bremen in January of this year but a lack of playing time means he could well be available for loan.

Cyle Larin
The best young player in the MLS, Canadian striker Cyle Larin has a huge reputation stateside and will likely be heading to Europe sooner rather than later.
Drafted #1 in the 2015 MLS Draft by Orlando City, the 20-year-old scored 17 goals in his first season in Florida and has already netted eight times this campaign.
A complete striker with the ability to score with both feet, Larin would be a revelation for Celtic.
